Photo Courtesy of The Weistein Co.I've once again stolen from the good people at Underground Undergrads to fill up some space in this humble blog. They recently posted a trailer for the movie Crossing Over, starring Harrison Ford, Ashley Judd and the beautiful newcomer Summer Bishil. From the looks of the trailer, the movie seems to be approaching the subject of immigration from a very humane point of view. But like many of the recent Weistein, Co. movies, the release date for this one has been pushed back to 2009 instead of this year, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Finally, a film that talks about one of the most important current issues in the country, made with what seems to be a decent Hollywood budget and it's being pushed aside. It's a good thing we have High School Musical and Max Paine to educate ourselves and learn about the lives of others. Oh wait, I forget about the educational value of following the life of a bunch of high school students and their struggle to find the perfect sing along for prom!
The movie was expected to generate award buzz, but who knows what the fate of the movie will be like once it's release sometime in 2009.
Whatever the case might be, go see this movie. It looks good and it seems like it has the Underground Undergrad seal of approval and that is enough for me to go see it!
