According to the California State University's website, "the 2009-2010 support budget plan sets aside one-third of the marginal cost fee revenue from enrollment growth for student financial aid."
For the 2009-2010 school year, $286,676,000 from the CSU fee revenue were set aside for the State University Grant program.
In order for students to qualify for said institutional financial aid, they must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
Although there is not much data as to how much money undocumented students contribute to the California State University system, part of their tuition money does go into the financial aid money pool that is distributed in the form of grants and student loans to qualified students.
In other words, here you have these AB 540 students who are working their butts off and contributing to financial aid for other students, but they get none. How fair is this?
